I'm not alone! For whatever unimaginable reason, my epic fantasy tends to lean heavy on the masculine side (aside from a female lead). I had to purposely go back and sort through book one of Fable and make sure it was balanced in the right areas and appropriately lacking in others. Wheeeh! What an undertaking.

Two of the characters I think you're recalling got migrated to Trinity, which is frankly hip-deep in oestrogen compared to Songs, so I guess the balance is redressed ;o)

"The truth is, I don’t actually think about whether a character is male or female. They’re just people."

Exactly!

I recall there were some very strong, memorable female characters in Songs. Then again, I prefer knee-highs to pantyhose, but I've been known to wear either.
